These moves reflect the accelerating substitution of traditional SMD solutions by the COB technology roadmap. According to the 2026 COB/MIP Display Research Report (Special Issue) by Aiming Industry, total monthly COB shipments are expected to grow from current levels to 220,000–240,000 square meters by 2030, with products with pixel pitches of P1.5 and above becoming the mainstay.

3. In the first half of 2026, the LED all‑in‑one (AIO) display continued its growth trend from the previous year, with major players reporting increased shipments. Moreover, after years of market exploration and feedback, product specifications have further converged in 2026, with standardization becoming clearer. The mainstream specifications now are 135‑inch P1.5 2K and 165‑inch P1.8 2K, while the high‑end tier is represented by 165‑inch P0.9 4K.



4. In the first half of 2026, the LED virtual production studio market saw steady demand growth, driven by the rise of micro‑dramas and the digital upgrade of the film and television industry. Domestic growth was fueled by the micro‑drama boom and deeper integration with AI technologies, coupled with a lower technological threshold and the emergence of lightweight solutions, which boosted the adoption of LED virtual studios in China. Overseas markets, dominated by Hollywood blockbusters and high‑end advertising, place greater emphasis on technological maturity and ecosystem completeness, with longer deployment cycles; sustained demand for visual effects and immersive content remains the primary growth engine.





5. For LED cinema screens, although the overall market size is still relatively small, project deployments continued their growth trend in the first half of 2026. A key positive factor accelerating adoption is the potential for diversified cinema operations, which helps smooth revenue fluctuations between peak and off‑peak seasons. In addition, LED cinema screens are more compatible with HDR film playback requirements, and factors such as cinema equipment upgrades and differentiated screening rooms are releasing further demand. The ecosystem for LED cinema screens continued to mature in the first half of 2026.
6. End‑brands collectively pushed forward with RGB‑Mini LED and SQD Mini LED technologies. To date, several TV models from multiple end‑brands have adopted RGB‑Mini LED and SQD Mini LED technologies, while some brands are also exploring multi‑primary‑color backlight solutions. As conventional Mini LED backlight TV products gradually mature and move downmarket, end‑brands' foray into RGB‑Mini LED, SQD Mini LED, and multi‑primary‑color Mini LED backlights may position these three technology routes as key technologies for future high‑end TV products.



7. As the future development trends of AI data centers become clearer, Micro LED CPO (co‑packaged optics) has gained increasing attention due to its significant advantages in short‑range optical communication. This has attracted a number of LED manufacturers, including ams OSRAM, Sanan Optoelectronics, BOE, AUO, PlayNitride, MTC, and Changelight, to enter the field.
8. AR glasses production expansion accelerated. The boom in end‑user demand has transmitted upstream, prompting the supply chain to simultaneously scale up production capacity for Micro LED microdisplays and optical waveguides.
